Lead Full Stack Developer

Job at a quick glance:

  • Reporting to and working closely with the Founder & CEO, a serial software entrepreneur with 5 exits to public companies.
  • Take over as lead developer for a customized and live Magento based ecommerce and sharing economy site (https://flont.club).
  • Managing Jira agile process and three small external development teams.
  • Hire an internal team to take over more core development, and implement and manage private label customer projects using our technology stack (Magento (for now), Ubuntu, AWS, RDS, Cloudfront, CSS3, Javascript, PHP, Apache, Git).
  • Determine and design future platform (Q1 2018) architecture and technologies, whether internal or externally developed.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience as a full stack engineer, with experience as lead developer of similar projects.
  • Experience planning product architecture

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Masters Degree in CS
  • Strong skills in Javascript, PHP, and MySQL.
  • Magento module development experience a big plus.

QA and Inventory Supervisor

Description

Flont is a fashion tech startup, and this role is the king or queen of our inventory, reporting directly to the CEO. You will manage a small vault and logistics department in New York City. We all chip in when help is needed, but for now you will be the one person taking care of inventory, QA and fulfillment. We are growing fast, and are planning a larger facility based on the operations developed here. You will help with that plan and supervise the implementation later this year.

We acquire fine jewelry inventory from 40 global and artisan brands. The first job is to inspect and approve these jewels, then input them into our inventory system, customized by NumberCruncher. Then ensure that the items were properly loaded into our website, www.flont.club. You monitor all inventory descriptions and photos on the website daily.

Members borrow our jewelry, for days of a month. It's your job to pick and pack the jewelry, create customized print materials, and send the jewelry via FedEx. Sometime clients purchase the item, but otherwise it comes back via FedEx. Then you must inspect the item, send it to our on-site repair shop if necessary, and return it to inventory, both on the system and in our vault.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience in fine jewelry inventory management
  • 2 years experience in fine jewelry quality assurance
  • Based in New York City area.
  • You must be ambitious and detail oriented.

Front End Web Developer Intermediate

Description – Internal Developer (Intermediate)

This is a great opportunity for a junior developer ready to take on more responsibilities. We need one internal developer to coordinate with an outside development team, and be available for immediate front end modifications. As an Intermediate Front-End Developer, you’ll participate in the planning and development of a web and mobile responsive ecommerce site built on Magento CMS (1.9 and planning to upgrade to 2), and hosted in a state of the art Amazon AWS environment. As the internal developer, you will manage a physical scrum board as well as a Jira hosted scrum board, utilized by internal and external developers. You will prioritize and coordinate the development tasks, and personally complete many of the front end tasks.

You must have solid experience with Magento and CSS, and decent experience with PHP and JavaScript. Experience with Agile preferred. You must be flexible and effective interacting with others (soft touch).

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in Magento based responsive web development working within a team, delivering pixel perfect code through CSS3/HTML5, using Git repositories.
  • Experience planning, prototyping, developing, and testing for web, mobile/tablet.
  • Knowledge of usability, accessibility, industry standards, and testing tools
  • Degree in Web Development, Information Systems or Computer Science preferred but not required.
